STEUBEN TRUST COMPANY PRIVACY POLICY

At Steuben Trust Company, our mission is to serve our customers’ financial needs. As financial professionals entrusted with sensitive financial information, we respect the privacy of our customers and are committed to treating customer information responsibly. Our Customer Information Policy services as a standard for all Steuben Trust Company employees and Directors for collection, use, retention, and security of individual customer information, both current and former customers.
CATEGORIES OF INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Steuben Trust Company collects non public personal information about you from the following sources:
- information we receive from you on applications or other
forms;
- information about your transaction with us or third party verification systems;
- information we receive from a consumer-reporting agency.
Visitors to our informational Web pages remain anonymous. We do not collect identifying information about visitors to our site. We may use standard software to collect non-identifying information about our visitors, such as:
- Date and time our site was accessed
- IP address ( a numeric address given to computers connected to the Internet )
- Web browser used
- City, state, and country
We use this information to create summary statistics and to determine the level of interest in information available on
our site.
Visitors may elect to provide us with personal information via E-mail or on line registration forms. This information is used internally, as appropriate, to handle the sender’s request. It is not disseminated or sold to other organizations. Some areas of our Website may use a “cookie”, which is temporarily stored information on a visitor’s computer that allows the web server to log the pages you use within the site and to know if you visited the site before.
CATEGORIES OF INFORMATION WE DISCLOSE
We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about our customers or former customers to nonaffiliated third parties, except as permitted by law. For example, it is our policy not to reveal specific information about customer accounts or other personally identifiable data to third parties for their independent use, except for the exchange of information with reputable information reporting agencies to maximize the accuracy and security of such information or in the performance of bona fide corporate due diligence or business matter.
The Bank reserves the right to disclose nonpublic personal information about you to our affiliate financial service provider(s) (for example, a Real Estate Investment Trust). We reserve the right to provide nonpublic personal information to a nonaffiliated third party to perform marketing of the Bank’s own products. If the Bank exercises this option, a contractual agreement with the third party will be entered into whereby the Bank will prohibit the disclosure or use of this information for any reason other than carrying out the purpose for which the Bank disclosed the information.
CONFIDENTIALITY AND SECURITY
Steuben Trust Company is committed to the security of our customers financial and personal information. All of our operational and data processing systems are in a secure environment that protects your account information from being accessed by third parties. We maintain and grant access to customer information only in accordance with our internal security standards.
At Steuben Trust Company, our employee access to personally identifiable customer information is limited to those with a business reason to know such information. Employees are educated on the importance of maintaining the confidentiality of customer information and on these privacy principals. Because of the importance of these issues, all Steuben Trust Company employees are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of customer information and employees who violate these privacy policies will be subject to disciplinary measures.
